November 7 La Vista Foundation free dinner at the Embassy Suites for veterans. You must sign up at La Vista Foundation .org to make reservations.

October 19 is the Air Force Retirement Day program from 9:00 am. to 1:00 p.m.   This is where service members about to retire can learn about the American Legion and many other programs. It will be held at the BX on Offutt AFB.  Bruce Husted is the contact person for this program.  You have to be cleared prior to the event to volunteer.

October 19 the Benson Squadron #112 will host a Saloween party from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Benson VFW Post #2503, 8904 Military.  Last year they had 135 kids and 90 adults participate.

October 11 veterans are asked to eat lunch or dinner at Don & Milley’s on Corhusker Road from 4-9 p.m. to help support veterans.

October 8 is Sarpy County Government Day, with students meeting at the courthouse to tour the facility and listen to officials, and then having lunch at Papillion Post #32.

October 7 Omaha Post #1 will host their annual Mav Vet Day from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at UNO. Where they try to get the active service students attending the univsity to join their post.

The new American Legion Act Membership is now open to any service member with 1 day active duty service and an honorable discharge can join the American Legion. Also a non service spouse can join the Auxiliary. This primarily was enacted for males with a female service member. New application forms are being printed for post use ,

October 5 the Benson Squadron #112 will serve a pancake breakfast from 8-12 with pancakes, eggs and sausage at a cost of $5.00 per person. The event will be served at Benson VFW Post #2503 at 8904 Military Ave.
